Version 3.0.0.2

Good news! I was finally able to reproduce the hanging-when-copying files bug. Its now fixed and I will upload a new version (3.0.0.2) tonight (NZ time!)

Edit: This is now available at the usual place...
  • Actually fixed the application hang bug when copying tracks to iPod
  • Added Multi-line grid row mode (cells wrap long content if necessary)

Excellent! Thanks

If anyone doesn't like it, it is an option in the Options window you can turn on/off :)

I have still the same installing problem as with version 3. It sais:

Application Error
The application failed to initialize proprly (0x000013).

Can anyone tell me what is wrong and how can it be fixed.

Thanks in advance :)

Oliver, have you installed the .NET framework (theres a link on the SharePod main page...)?

Jeff any way to have the sorting tweaked? Like when Sorting by Artists it doesn't sort the albums as well. For instance I have all albums by Rush. If I sort by Artists I get all the Rush songs together but the albums and tracks are spread out all over the place. Wondering if it can be "intelligent" enough so that when sorting by artists it also sorts by Albums|Tracks (and if the albums have dates sort by the date the album was released). I know I can sort by Albums alone but nice to group all the albums with their tracks when sorting by the Artist.

I think Powaking is talking about secondary sorting.

And yes, that gets a vote from me.

If i start sharepod it says: "Invalid value specified! Reason: Star rating muyst be between 0 and 5, given value -2."

I don't use the star rating system at all so i don't know wich song has this rating or how to change it. Is there a way to bypass this check?

el paulio: yah thats what I meant ;)

Also would be nice to have the song that is playing highlighted so that if you do want to rate it or modify the tag it will be easier than trying to search for it. Maybe offer a button to 'jump' to the song in your playlist to do such modifying.

Thanks for a very useful app. I wrote a Ruby script to work around the encoding issues with non-ASCII characters: http://henrik.nyh.se/2007/06/fix-sharepod-non-standard-characters Feel free to fix this in SharePod itself ;)

The drag and drop playlist creation does not work. Create a new playlist, click on a track in the master play list, drag to new playlist and drop: Nothing happens, I still have an empty playlist. Is anyone else having this problem, or have any suggestions to try?

Moe, that definitely works on all computers i've tried. Does it display the drag-drop icon when you drag the song over the playlist?

I have the same problem. I think I mentioned it somewhere, but here you go.

Exactly the same problem.

XP SP2 fully patched. .net 1,2 and 3 installed.

I got this error:
"The iPod database could not be read. Please run iTunes with your iPod connected, then re-open SharePod.
(Error at 0x1F8)...."
I hate Itunes, that is the reason I want to use SharePod!

Drag and drop into playlists doesn't work for me either with v 3.0.0.2 - icon changes to box with arrow but song titles aren't transferred.

XPSP2, .net, ipod mini

I don't know if this is a problem with Sharepod or with my tagging program, but when I add to iPod my mp3s with embedded album art the art doesn't show.
Yet, when I run iTunes the art is there, and after initially playing the song the art then appears on the iPod.

Paul said...

Pretty please add the album art feature. We all want it.
I'd donate if you did, because I wouldn't have to use iTunes ever again.

Great for getting stuff off old ipod. Now was trying to copy more music back on to keep as a back up.
In doing, sharepod hung up to where I had to restart the computer each time. So gave that idea up.Input welcome however.

However, songs have since disapeared off ipod all together now. And when I try to open Sharepod folder for a restore, I get this sharepod message:

The iPod database could not be read. Please run iTunes with your iPod connected, then re-open SharePod.
