Just heard about this news! The newest iPods (the touch screen generation) have a check in them to prevent programs like SharePod and Amarok from modifiying songs on the iPod.
No-one has had any success in cracking it yet, so I'll have to just watch and see what happens. Unfortunately I just don't have the time to try and crack the checks myself...

Hey, thanks for that :) I had heard it had been cracked, but hadn't seen that page before
hello, i just got a new 160 gig Ipod Classic, and i am desperatly in need of a different program other then itunes to use to sync my music, if sharepod isn't going to be updated any time soon, does anyone have any recommended software that has been updated for the new ipods. i know of some that run on linux, but i need one for windows. any help would be awesome, if i cant find a program it will pretty much defeat the purpose of buying a 160 all together, thanx
Zach, J.River Media Center works with the new iPods. It is shareware but a very powerful media manager.
dude, thanx SO MUCH!
I just downloaded Sharepod but when I run it I get the error message "No ipod found connected to the computer." I have the ipod nano connected with the download cable into the USB port and I am running XP. Any ideas? Thanks, Dennis
